Report Writer - Risk Assessment

About the Role
Good Lands currently has an opening for a full‑time remote Report Writer in our Risk Assessment group. Occasional travel to the Pierson, Manitoba office may be required.

This role is embedded within a highly collaborative team environment. You will work closely with Risk Assessment Specialists, Project Managers, and Program Managers across the organization to transform technical data and modelling outputs into clear, defensible, and regulator-ready reports.

What You’ll Be Responsible For  

  • Prepare, edit, and finalize technical reports for Tier 1–3 Risk Assessments, Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) evaluations, human health and ecological risk assessments, and remedial action plans.
  • Compile and interpret field and analytical data into clear, concise, and defensible reports aligned with regulatory frameworks.
  • Work collaboratively with technical staff across divisions to ensure accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Integrate model outputs and technical analyses into structured narrative reports.
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes and help strengthen standardized writing      templates and reporting workflows.
  • Prepare client-facing summaries, memos, figures, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage multiple reporting tasks simultaneously, maintaining strong internal      communication around timelines and expectations.

What We’re Looking For

  • Post secondary education in environmental science, soil science, geology, agriculture, engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong technical writing skills with experience preparing scientific or regulatory reports.
  • Excellent  written English communication skills. 
  • Knowledge of environmental risk assessment principles, including exposure pathways      and regulatory frameworks.
  • Familiarity with the Subsoil Salinity Tool (SST) and other environmental modelling software.
  • Understanding of the upstream oil and gas industry is an asset.
  • Ability to register with a professional organization considered an asset.
  • Highly organized, self‑motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively.
